Our Lit Live is a rebrand of Our Lit Diaries, a pop-up event created by Tamika Jamison, the visionary founder of AAMBC Inc. What began as a gathering of Black women in publishing and film quickly transformed into an unforgettable experience, an empowering space for sharing stories, building connections, and creating authentically. The undeniable impact of Our Lit Diaries continues to resonate, bringing together creatives and offering them a platform to be seen and heard. In an industry that often feels selective, Our Lit Live is dedicated to amplifying the African American community with the visibility and voice they deserve.
After connecting with over 15,000 creatives within AAMBC Inc.’s network and gathering invaluable feedback, we realized there was a huge need for a space that celebrated literary arts and entertainment. That vision blossomed into Our Lit Live, a vibrant platform where stories take center stage, creativity knows no limits, and Black voices rise to the occasion.
Now hosted at The Bookstore Gallery (488 Edgewood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA), Our Lit Live continues to grow into a center for cultural expression, inspiring storytelling, and unforgettable experiences.

Imagine stepping into your favorite bookstore, where you can not only snag an autographed copy of your favorite author’s latest book but also dive into intimate conversations with them through exclusive events, discussions, workshops, and masterclasses. In this vibrant space, you’ll have the chance to connect with fellow creatives, exchange ideas, and network with like-minded individuals. Plus, you can bring along the young ones you care about to enjoy dynamic after-school and summer programs, designed to nurture their creativity and build their confidence.

WHY IS LIT LIVE NEEDED
Currently, spaces that celebrate literary arts and Black creatives are scarce, leaving many talented individuals searching for a platform where they are truly seen and heard. Black literary creatives, in particular, are yearning for a physical space that not only recognizes their contributions but actively represents them.
Moreover, we can’t ignore the stark contrast between the deep roots literary arts have in our culture and the troubling reality that, in 2022, U.S. adult illiteracy rates reached as high as 22%. There is an urgent need to both honor literary arts and foster a spirit of literary activism within our community, ensuring that we not only celebrate creativity but also create opportunities for growth and empowerment.
The Vision of LIT LIVE
Lit Live is uniquely positioned to tackle these challenges head-on! We recognize the urgent need for a creative space like Lit Live, especially in communities that lack access to resources for literacy, art, and enrichment programs for youth and aspiring artists.
At Lit Live, we leverage our social capital and infrastructure to offer aspiring creatives the chance to meet and be inspired by successful individuals who look like them. Beyond that, we provide invaluable access to books, artistic activities, wellness classes, and a diverse network of talent creating a space for collaboration, connection, and endless inspiration.

Delivery of Rewards
After the campaign closes, a survey will be sent to you to confirm your delivery address and to obtain any custom information. We expect rewards to be delivered within 3-4 months of the close of the campaign, but will do our best to deliver them to you as soon as possible. We’re just as excited to get them to you! Please note that we can only deliver physical rewards to addresses within the United States through this campaign. Digital rewards, however, can be delivered worldwide. Rewards that are only available within a particular geographic region are noted in the reward description.
