OUR HISTORY

"Our Literature is the DNA to our Culture." - Kimberly Jones

"Lit Diaries, Now Live!"

Our journey with Lit Diaries began with a pop-up event hosted by Tamika Jamison, founder of African Americans on the Move Book Club Inc. (AAMBC), just two months before the world shifted in 2020. Our Lit Diaries honored Black women in publishing and film, offering a safe space to share their stories and create authentically. Through intimate conversations, much like the entries of a personal diary, women were encouraged to dream boldly and heal together. It soon became clear that this was more than just a healing experience, it was the beginning of something everlasting.

Our growing community of over 15,000 creatives uncovered a profound need for a physical space dedicated to storytelling and literary arts entertainment within the African American community.

From pages to stages, in 2025, we rebranded Lit Diaries to Our Lit Live an immersive experience featuring a live stage, sounds, and vibes. Currently hosted at The Bookstore Gallery (488 Edgewood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA), Our Lit Live is where Black stories take the stage, meaningful conversations ignite transformation, and underrepresented voices are celebrated loud and proud.

OUR FOUNDER

From teen mom to CEO by the age of twenty, Tamika Jamison has redefined what it means to be a literary trailblazer. The author of 16 novels and the recipient of 8 African American Literary Awards, she has landed on numerous bestsellers’ lists while breaking barriers in the publishing world.

In 2009, just nine months after debuting her first novel, Tamika secured a major publishing contract without an agent. This milestone led her to become the CEO of Delphine Publications, where she has since published nearly 200 titles and launched the careers of hundreds of writers.

Her influence extends beyond the page. Tamika is the visionary behind the AAMBC Literary Awards, the only entertainment award show dedicated to celebrating African American writers. With a passion for amplifying Black stories and creating spaces for authentic storytelling, she continues to shape the future of Black literature and culture.
